Pittards has developed a new flame retardant leather, Firebloc^TM that not only offers all benefits inherent to Pittards WR100X process (water resistance, softness, strength) but also provides high levels of protection against fire hazards whilst still retaining a high degree of dexterity and flexibility essential to the fire services around the world.

Ignition resistance
The leather is chemically treated to self extinguish once out of a flame. It stops burning within 2 seconds and glowing within 5 seconds, thus reducing the risk of re-igniting from flammable liquids in close proximity.

Water resistance
Pittards Firebloc^TM offers enhanced insulation benefits by limiting water uptake to keep hands dry and warm at all times. Low water uptake also guarantees overall comfort and sustained dexterity.

Breathability
